"Because racecar" isn't a great justification here

I mean, as long as the fitting’s tight, what’s the problem?

I’m not even sure how this is possible. There are so many different ways this could be just as half-assed, and yet less shitty - I want to find out who the world’s stupidest meckanuc is.

I feel like these are the type of people who do this and when the car burns to the ground they blame the fitting company

If he was going to bother to silicone a wrench to the an fitting he could at least cover the entire head in silicone and not half ass it.

I don’t think it is tight if this is what you have to do to keep it in place.

Or crossthreading it was too much work.

I assumed that wrench was put there to hold it while tightening.

In a very short time that handle will begin to disintegrate and clog up the fuel system.

Cheap plastics and gasoline do not generally play well together

In my experience, I have not found a silcon that holds up to higher octane fuels. Acetone, Tulane, and to lesser degree other hydro carbons will destroy any RTV that you but at the autoparts store. In fact in where I work, that how we remove silicon.

I admit, there may be a silcon that can stand up to these fuels, but I have not seen them.

I would have went with JB weld.

I kept thinking “Wait, what’s so bad about this? I must be missing something.”

Then I realized the wrench isn’t just there while he tightens from the other side. It’s fixed there.

Dear god.
